PTI raises hopes as Qureshi lands?

Former Punjab Governor and senior PTI leader Mian Muhammad Azhar expressed the hope on Monday that former PPP leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi would join them. Azhar said this despite Mr Qureshis denial to join Imran Khans party.

Mr Qureshi, it may be noted here, is all set to meet Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday in Lahore.
On the issue of forming political alliances, Azhar, however, said that decision to forge alliance with the Jamaat-e-Islami or any other party would be made before the next general election.
Azhar, who was addressing a joint sitting organised by TheNation and Nawa-i-Waqt, also shed light on the Mullen memo, saying it should be investigated thoroughly and the person found involved in the incident should be punished.

The former governor remarked that politicians befool the masses in the name of solving their problems. About the MFN status to India, Azhar said, We should have friendly relations with neighbouring countries. In the case of India, however, the Kashmir issue should be settled first.
He added, Kashmir is our jugular vein and no Pakistani can compromise it for the sake of other issues. Talking about the corruption, he remarked that a minister (who was found involved in corruption and returned Rs.45 million of kickbacks) hasnt resigned yet.

Narrating his story of differences with the PML-N, Azhar claimed, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif became infuriated when I invited PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto on the wedding of my daughter. Nawaz Sharif boycotted the marriage ceremony as his reaction to my invitation to BB. That was the beginning of our differences. On his parting ways with the PML-Q, Azhar said some interest groups had captivated the party.Azhar also met TheNation Editor-in-Chief and Nawa-i-Waqt Group Managing Director Mr Majid Nizami.
